Germany frets, Soros lurks, as Spanish Socialists welcome African migrants

Reports at Deutsche Welle and Breitbart yesterday confirm that Germany (and Mama Merkel) are clearly worried about the surge in migrants being admitted to Spain.

Spanis wall

Spain here we come!

Here is some of Breitbart’s account of what has happened in the wake of Italian citizens awakening to the real possibility of a continued and irreversible invasion from Africa.

Germany Considers New Border Controls After Surge of Migrants Invited by Socialist Spain

Germany has indicated that it may introduce controls along its borders with France and Switzerland after the Socialist-led Spanish government accepted thousands of migrants, with Germany fearing a fresh migrant wave.

German Secretary of State for Migration Helmut Teichmann said that the federal interior ministry is concerned by the number of migrants arriving in Spain, saying: “We fear that many migrants could make their way to France, the Benelux countries and Germany.”

More than 22,800 migrants have arrived on Spain’s shores from North Africa travelling along the western Mediterranean route since January — up 350 percent on last year.

Screenshot (1350)

Conversely, the number of migrants to Italy from North Africa via the central Mediterranean route has declined by 80 percent, after the populist government imposed a policy of refusing to disembark migrant boats on Italy’s shores.

Spain’s conservative government collapsed in June resulting in the Socialists taking power which quickly offered to take the migrant boats turned away by Italy, with Spanish police sources indicating that at least 50,000 sub-Saharan Africans are in Morocco waiting to head to Spain.

The new far-left government has vowed to dismantle razorwire fencing along the borders between its North African enclaves Ceuta and Melilla and Morocco, leaving them vulnerable to uncontrolled mass migration. Once a migrant steps foot on Spanish territory, they have technically entered the European Union and are free to claim asylum and move unrestricted across the Schengen Free Movement zone.

Refugee contractors putting the squeeze on Potus, you need to squeeze back

refugees welcome anti Trump

Protesters eager for more refugees demonstrate against President Trump

I know, I know, you are probably getting sick of hearing from me on the issue of the upcoming Presidential Determination on the number of refugees to be admitted to the US in Fiscal Year 2019 which begins on October first—less than 2 months from now.

But, I must keep talking about it because the Open Borders Left and especially the nine federal refugee resettlement contractors are lobbying day and night to pressure the Prez into going back to the levels they enjoyed during the Obama presidency.

They are in desperation mode!

In fact, if the levels don’t pick up for some of the nine contractors*** one or more could go belly-up financially in the coming year since they receive much of their federal boodle on a per refugee head basis.

Reader Joanne sent us this appeal from the International Institute of New England and I’m posting it here as a screenshot so you know what they are telling their groupies to do.  The International Institute is a subcontractor of the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (the same contractor I mentioned in my post from Bowling Green, KY the other day).

You need to take a few minutes and tell your elected officials what you believe should be done right now.

I’m not giving you a script as they do because any Congressional staff worth its salt will recognize an astro-turf campaign. They obviously don’t think their people are smart enough to write a few sentences on their own.

Tell your elected officials what you think (and the President too) in polite terms. In fact if you see them in person during the August recess, tell them in person!

I like the idea of putting the whole program on hold (there is NO legal requirement to take a single refugee) until Congress gets off the dime and reforms the entire US Refugee Admissions Program which includes getting the UN out of our refugee-selecting business!  But, please tell them what you think in your own words!

Here is what the contractors are telling their followers to do:

Screenshot (1347)

Screenshot (1348)

By the way, the cap is not a goal, it is merely a ceiling the administration can’t go over without consulting Congress, but the contractors want you to think it is a “goal.”

I know you probably think it’s a waste of time to tell members of Congress what you think, but please take a few minutes otherwise they will say they never heard a word from anyone looking to reduce numbers or reform the program.

And, of course, and more importantly, be sure to tell the President what you think he should do.

White House contact information is in the right hand column here at RRW.

*** These (below) are the nine federal resettlement contractors which are largely paid for their ‘humanitarian’ work by you, the US taxpayer.

As the numbers of incoming refugees decline so too does their income (they are paid by the refugee head!).  A continued reduction in the number of incoming refugees could cause one or more of these supposed non-profits to go under due to poor budgetary management—they never planned for a rainy day when federal bucks might dry up!

Another low year, perhaps lower than this year’s 20,000 plus year, could completely blow to smithereens the budget of one or more of these federal contractors which are demanding a cap of 75,000.

The number in parenthesis is the percentage of their income paid by you (the taxpayer) to place the refugees into your towns and cities and get them signed up for their services (aka welfare)!

Colorado Springs: Is Iraqi who shot police officer in the head a refugee?

Here we go again, another violent crime and no one seems to know if the alleged perpetrator is a refugee, or if he is here through some other legal immigration program?

Screenshot (600)

Iraqi Karrar Al Khammasi

The story in The Gazette (and on Fox News this morning) reminded me that Colorado Springs has the distinction of being the location where five Iraqis who supposedly ‘helped’ our troops in Iraq were arrested in 2011 (several were ultimately convicted) for brutally raping a local woman.

Frankly, authorities do know what sort of visa the latest Iraqi arrested Thursday used to get here, they just don’t want the public to know!

Here we go again!

Secret decoder ring needed to figure out his immigration status!

From The Gazette:

A man accused of shooting a Colorado Springs police officer in the head in a shootout early Thursday while free on bond was known to immigration enforcement officials, yet evaded deportation despite a string of crimes, court records show.

Why Karrar Al Khammasi wasn’t deported was among the questions left unanswered Friday as his bond was revoked. Cem Duzel, the officer he is accused of shooting, remained hospitalized in critical condition.

The 31-year-old Iraqi immigrant appears to have lived in the Pikes Peak region for at least five years, and he had at least nine contacts with police in that time, according to court records.

Whether his guilty plea should have triggered deportation depends on a variety of factors. But his conviction raised the question as to why he was allowed to remain in the United States, said David Simmons, a Denver immigration attorney of more than 30 years and a former adjunct professor at the University of Denver.

Some forms of trespass are considered crimes of moral turpitude — which can lead to deportation — and others are not, Simmons said.

The consequences of such a conviction also could vary, depending on how long he had been in the country, or the nature of the circumstances that brought him here.

Some Iraqis living in the U.S. came as refugees who assisted the government or who fled persecution. But those refugees sometimes evade deportation because of chaos in their home country, or threats to their lives upon their return.

So because Iraq is a hellhole we must tolerate criminals among us?

It is unknown whether those things factored into Al Khammasi’s immigration here, and the type of visa Al Khammasi used to enter the United States wasn’t clear. [They know, they just don’t want to tell us!—-ed]

El Paso County sheriff’s spokesman Jacqueline Kirby said Al Khammasi was an Iraqi citizen who was born in Iraq. She had previously said Al Khammasi was a refugee, but she later said she was mistaken, and that she wasn’t certain of his immigration status.

The last five years of Al Khammasi’s life have been marked by several run-ins with the law.

More here.

Was he a special refugee known as a Special Immigrant Visa holder who supposedly helped us in Iraq like the convicted Colorado Springs rapists?

If you are new to RRW, see my post in 2017 where I listed some refugee terrorists and violent criminals which included a link to the Colorado rapist story.  And, for really ambitious readers, see my ‘Crimes’ category which now archives over 2,000 posts.

And, one more thing….if you didn’t know, the refugee resettlement contractors I’m always talking about also get paid to place SIVs.

Have you no shame John McCullough?

Who is the Reverand McCullough?

He is the handsomely compensated CEO of Church World Service and here, The Hill, gives him a platform to play the Christian guilt card on members of Congress and their foolish naive staff people who will read this op-ed and say—yes, of course we must admit 75,000 third worlders to American towns and cities and shroud the whole process in secrecy!

mccullough-arrest

Here is McCullough being arrested outside the White House during the Obama Administration while protesting on behalf of illegal alien rights.  You, the American taxpayer, pay 74% of his salary!

I know a good bit about CWS because it is the federal refugee resettlement contractor that came to Washington County, Maryland in 2007 and because of the activities of its subcontractor, Virginia Council of Churches, you are now reading Refugee Resettlement Watch!

You can read McCullough’s piece on your own.

It is the same old s**t with no mention of the fact that Church World Service’s entire budget rests on whether the resettled numbers in FY 19 are high or low because CWS is paid on a refugee per head basis for its ‘charitable’ Christian good works!

You know what I think a real Christian leader would do—he would go to the third world, risk his own safety, and help people there!

McCullough:

Lowering the refugee ceiling would be an abandonment of American leadership

No surprise that The Hill gives McCullough a platform while having turned down writers who espouse a differing point of view on the subject.

Tomorrow I’ll call The Hill and see if they turn me down too!

Here is a page from Church World Service’s most recent Form 990:

Canadians apparently not as ‘welcoming’ as their Prime Minister

Shortly after President Trump announced his travel ban, you will remember that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told the world in a tweet that they would be welcome in Canada.

trudeau tweet

Well, Canada’s welcome is wearing thin and here is one more story, this time in the Wall Street Journal telling us that the public opinion tide has turned on Trudeau.

Although the article (hat tip: Cathy) is focused on the asylum seekers coming across their border with the US, I am sure that the 52,000+ Syrian refugees they admitted in less than three years had already strained Canada’s ability to provide shelter and welfare for that many needy people.

The Wall Street Journal:

OTTAWA—Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s open-arms policy on refugees is facing pushback at home.

A poll published Friday by Vancouver-based Angus Reid Institute indicates Canadian anxiety over asylum seekers entering the country by foot from the U.S. has intensified from a year ago, when such border crossings hit a peak. Their concern “shows no sign of abating,” said Shachi Kurl, executive director of the polling organization.

Trudeau diversity is strength

Trudeau and his silly slogan!

According to the poll, 58% of Canadians surveyed said the country is “too generous” to unofficial border crossers, an increase from 53% when Angus Reid asked a similar question a year ago. Nearly two-thirds, or 65%, said the roughly 31,000 asylum seekers who have come to Canada from the U.S. since the Trump administration took office are too much for the country to handle.

Also, 67% of the 1,500 survey respondents said they would describe the asylum situation as a “crisis”–a term the opposition Conservative Party has repeatedly used in recent months to describe the situation. The online survey was conducted July 25-30, with a margin of error of 2.5 percentage points.

Critics of the government attribute the border-crossing surge to a January 2017 message from Mr. Trudeau on his official Twitter account, in which he said Canada would welcome people fleeing persecution, terror and war. His tweet was posted a day after President Trump imposed a travel ban on people from several predominantly Muslim countries. The U.S. Supreme Court this year affirmed Mr. Trump’s power to issue the prohibition.

The increase in the number of border crossings has placed added pressure on the Canadian cities of Toronto and Montreal, where many asylum seekers are living while they await refugee hearings. Regional politicians have called on the Liberal government to provide additional financial support to help house the asylum seekers and provide social services.

The poll indicated 48% trusted Andrew Scheer, the leader of Canada’s Conservative Party, to best handle the issue of asylum seekers, versus 35% who chose Mr. Trudeau.

Bowling Green, KY not getting enough Muslim refugees says refugee contractor

I’ve already posted a bunch of stories similar to this one from several different cities in what is an obvious media campaign to blast the President as he approaches his deadline to say how many refugees the US will ‘welcome’ in FY19.

I don’t intend to publish them all because it gets boring, but will note interesting points when I see them.

Iraqi refugee terrorists

Iraqi refugees convicted on terror charges were arrested in Bowling Green, KY, but you never see that mentioned anymore.  https://abcnews.go.com/WNT/video/exclusive-terror-worry-rises-al-qaeda-found-kentucky-20958004

We have written a lot on Bowling Green, KY over the years.

It is Senator Rand Paul’s home town. In 2011, two Iraqi Muslim refugees were arrested there and ultimately found guilty of attempting to help a terrorist group in Iraq.  The arrest resulted in the US State Department temporarily halting resettlement from Iraq and rescreening thousands of potential refugees.

At that point, Senator Paul came out strongly against the program, but his criticism vanished when he ran for President in 2016.

Prior to the Islamic terror arrests, we had already written many posts on how resettlement contractors were not taking adequate care of refugees they had placed there (many work in the local slaughterhouse industry, btw.)

So you might want to go here to learn more about the often troubled resettlement program in Bowling Green.

Here is the latest from WKU (an NPR station!). NPR seems to be taking the lead in the orchestrated media campaign in support of the federally-funded refugee contracting agencies***.

“It Hurts My Heart”: Muslim Refugee Resettlement in Bowling Green Virtually Eliminated

Tougher federal guidelines on refugee resettlement are having a big impact on a southern Kentucky agency.

The Trump administration has cut the overall number of refugees allowed into the U.S., and has added increased layers of security that have drastically cut the number of refugees from majority-Muslim countries. The advocacy group Human Rights First says there’s been a 90 percent decline in the number of refugee Muslim admissions in the U.S. compared to the 2017 federal fiscal year.

Listen Listening…3:54 Albert Mbanfu discussed the impact federal refugee resettlement policy is having on his agency’s efforts to bring refugees to Bowling Green.

Albert in KY

Albert Mbanfu laments the fact that only one Muslim refugee has arrived in Bowling Green this fiscal year.

Albert Mbanfu, executive director of the Bowling Green-based International Center of Kentucky, said the Trump administration policy has virtually ended resettlement of Muslims in Bowling Green since the start of the federal fiscal year last October.

“They’re not coming in,” the native of Cameroon said. “We’ve not received any refugee from any Muslim countries since the beginning of this fiscal year. In fact, we received one Somali kid, and it’s because that’s a kid, and the child took refuge in a country that was not a Muslim country.”

Before the new federal policies, the International Center of Kentucky helped resettle refugees from countries like Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan [and Somalia—ed].

Mbanfu says his agency is now focusing on resettling refugees from a small number of countries, mostly in parts of Africa and Asia.

“Most of them are coming in from Congo, Rwanda, Burma, Bhutan, and a few who are trickling in from Ethiopia.”

None of those countries are Muslim-majority countries. Mbanfu said most of the refugees settled by his agency so far this federal fiscal year have been Christians.

More here.

*** These are the nine federally-funded refugee contractors you pay with your tax dollars.  The  International Center of Kentucky is a subcontractor of USCRI below.

Since USCRI is approximately 98% funded by the federal government, you can imagine that they must be pretty nervous about more cuts in the refugee program where the agencies receive funding from the US Treasury on a refugee per head basis.

Daniel Pipes lists European leaders who could save Western civilization

He doesn’t exactly put it that way. The title of his piece yesterday is simply:

Who Are Europe’s Most Important Politicians?

President of the Middle East Forum, Daniel Pipes is a historian/author with a primary focus on Islam and migration.

Invasion of Europe news….

First Pipes tells us that he had put his faith in Geert Wilders a few years ago, and although he still admires the Dutch politician, he says Wilders perhaps focused too much on the nature of Islam and not enough on what migration generally was doing to the Netherlands and Europe.

Here are a few snips from Pipes’ piece published in the Washington Times yesterday, here, and at the Middle East Forum here:

After expressing admiration and explaining about Wilders, Pipes says….

orban and merkel

Her foolish actions helped create powerful leaders like Hungarian PM Viktor Orban

I focused not on run-of-the-mill political leaders – the UK prime minister, French president, German chancellor, or even the Roman Catholic pope – but on the disruptive politician leading Europe’s revolt against immigration and Islamization. Conventional politicians optimistically assume that the continent will muddle through, that some form of convivencia (Spanish for “coexistence,” a term deriving from medieval Andalusia) will emerge, that multiculturalism somehow will tame the beast of Islamic supremacism.

But as Europe, population 741 million, heads toward cultural crisis, as indigenous birthrates plunge, as Islamist aggression increases, and as the elite made up of the 6Ps (police, politicians, press, priests, professors and prosecutors) myopically insists there is nothing to worry about, this happy talk has little basis in reality.

[….]

In his [Wilders—ed] place, a number of civilizationist politicians have emerged who wield actual power, especially in formulating their countries’ policies towards migrants and Islam. The key event in their emergence was Angela Merkel’s great folly of 2015-16 when, at her invitation, over a million unvetted mostly-Muslim migrants arrived in Germany and elsewhere. Then, to make matters worse, she insisted on other European Union members take a proportion of the migrants, sparking widespread resentment.

Here, in my estimation, are the ten outstanding civilizationist leaders of this moment, in ascending order of importance (to be clear, this is an assessment, not an endorsement):

I won’t give them all away, except to tell you that Hungarian PM Viktor Orban is number one.

So, I would like to know why hasn’t our President invited Orban to the White House yet?

Go here to see Pipes’ list of names you should know.  Of course, this is his opinion and you might have others who give you hope that Europe can save itself before it is too late.

In Washington, it is all about the cap! One report: Trump would consider a cap of 5,000 refugees

You might call it refugee ‘cap wrangling season’ as the players in the refugee resettlement circles in Washington jockey for position for the coming fiscal year.

Trump and Pompeo

Everyone is waiting to see what Sec. of State Pompeo will say.

A lot rides on the ceiling, or cap, the President, by law, sets for the coming fiscal year—how many refugees could be admitted and where they might come from. It is a power assigned to the President by then Senator Ted Kennedy and Jimmy Carter as they pushed through, and Carter ultimately signed, the Refugee Act of 1980.

Besides the push from the Leftwing Open Borders gang for more diversity for America, and Dems for more voters, a lot of federal money for nine federal resettlement contractors*** is at stake.

I hope not to be talking about it every day (see yesterday’s post), but when I saw this Politico story I figured it included a little nugget that you should know about, namely that the President threw out the number 5,000 in last years ‘cap wrangling season.’

Just a reminder, whatever number the President sets, it is a cap, a ceiling!  He could set the cap at 50,000 and still only admit 5,000!  This year the cap is 45,000, but the total admitted likely won’t pass 23,000.

Politico:

‘Miller is not deterred’: Top immigration aide pushing cuts in refugee numbers

The president suggested going as low as just 5,000, according to a former administration official.

President Donald Trump last year advocated dropping the refugee cap as low as 5,000 people, down from 50,000, according to a former administration official – a cut far more drastic than even his most hawkish adviser, Stephen Miller, proposed at the time.

stephen miller serious

Stephen Miller:  It drives his political enemies nuts that he is so young!

Ultimately, the administration restricted to 45,000 the flow of refugees into the U.S. this fiscal year – the lowest since the program began in 1980, and less than half the target of 110,000 that President Barack Obama set in his last planning cycle.

By the way, they love to trot out Obama’s last ridiculously high (unattainable!) cap of 110,000 set two months before the November 2016 Presidential election.  In all of his earlier years Obama set caps of tens of thousands lower. The 110,000 was all part of election year maneuvering.

Politico continues….

But the discussion set the terms of the administration’s refugee policymaking. Now Miller and a group of like-minded aides are pressing to reduce drastically the number of people entering the U.S., both legally and illegally.

The immigration hawks are moving forward….

[….]

anne richard-and-unhcr

She’s baaack….Anne Richard who ran Obama’s expansive refugee program here with Antonio Guterres now Secretary General of the UN.

One Republican close to the White House and a former White House official familiar with the discussions predicted the cap could fall as low as 15,000 in 2019, continuing a contraction of overall immigration, both legal and illegal.

A tiny group of key administration officials led by the National Security Council’s Mira Ricardel were planning to meet Friday to debate the coming year’s refugee cap. Late Thursday, however, a White House official said the meeting about refugees had been postponed. It is not yet determined when it will be rescheduled.

“Inside the Washington beltway, this is a numbers game that’s being carried out by people who don’t care about refugees and are orienting this to their base,” said Anne Richard, who was assistant secretary of state for population, refugees and migration in the Obama administration.

[….]

Behind the scenes, Miller, 32, has been contacting every relevant Cabinet secretary to convey his interpretation of the president’s thoughts on the refugee cap in an effort to sway the decision, said a former White House official familiar with the discussions.

LOL! Note that they don’t put the ages in for Anne Richard or anyone else quoted in this article.  It drives the Left insane to know that Miller is young.

The wild card is Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. No one is quite sure where he stands on the matter.
